How Haven Life Plus makes relationships less hard
Romantic? Kind of. Essential? Absolutely. Here’s how our rider can help Haven Life customers thrive in their relationships.
Whether you consider it the most romantic day of the year, or merely a fake holiday cooked up by the suits at Big Greeting Card, one thing is undeniable: Valentine’s Day is almost here.
Obviously, the most romantic thing you can do is buy life insurance: Arranging to “be there” financially for your family after death? That’s true love.
But Valentine’s Day isn’t just about giving and getting presents — it’s about showing you care. Here at Haven Life, we wanted to show we care by explaining how Haven Life Plus — a rider that gives eligible Haven Life customers access to a suite of bonus features — can make your relationship easier. That may not sound as romantic as flowers or chocolates, but the ways that Plus can benefit your relationship will last a lot longer than those fleeting pleasures.
In this article:
The Plus perk: Aaptiv
Haven Life customers enjoy no-cost access to Aaptiv, the workout app packed with a huge range of exercise options, from full-on sweat sessions and gentle walks to guided meditations and everything in between.
How Aaptiv makes relationships less hard
Working out together: The reasons for working out are numerous — a longer, healthier life, for starters. But consider the benefits of working out with your partner: It’s something the two of you can do together that’s for you, not for your kids. (It’s not quite dinner and a movie, but it’s still quality time with the love of your life).
It’s also a way for you to bond around shared goals and to accomplish something together over time, instead of just trying to get through the day, which is what many of us are doing right now. Not only does it help you share more common interests, but it also is a different way for you to spend quality time together. Also, healthier people are happier people, which certainly won’t hurt your romantic relationship.
Working out alone: However much you enjoy your partner’s company (and we’re guessing you’ve had a lot of time to enjoy it lately), sometimes you just need time alone to think, de-stress or blow off steam. This, in turn, makes you better, less irritable company. Aaptiv can provide you with guided walks if you want to get all deep-and-thoughtful while grabbing some alone time, or it can give you a hard-charging run if you want to let it all out.
The Plus perk: MinuteClinic
Haven Life customers get discounted access to MinuteClinic’s wide range of health services, handily available inside CVS and Target pharmacies, and telemedicine appointments, which you can probably guess are rising in popularity these days.
How MinuteClinic makes relationships less hard
Quitting smoking: We hope you have life insurance, in case the worst should happen. But you don’t want the worst to happen, and neither does your partner. If your spouse is worried about your health, that makes your relationship harder, so if you’re a smoker, consider quitting. Keeping yourself healthy may build a stronger relationship for you and your partner since you both are building mutual respect and want to be the best version of yourself for one another. MinuteClinic’s smoking cessation program, Start 2 Stop, can set you on the right path. This will be good for you, your relationship and potentially even your insurance premiums.
Dealing with easy health matters: A sick person at home makes a relationship harder, especially in these times, so take advantage of MinuteClinic’s convenience (walk-ins welcome, available at CVS, Target or via telehealth visits) to attend to minor health matters so they don’t become major ones. If you need to deal with anything from skin problems to allergies to minor illnesses, MinuteClinic is a great resource that makes health simple.
The Plus perk: Trust & Will
With Trust & Will you can quickly create a legally binding will or trust (or both) online. For Haven Life customers, that service is no cost.
How Trust & Will makes relationships less hard
Getting your affairs in order: Just to be clear, we mean financial affairs. We’re talking about making a will or trust. Worrying about what will happen financially if you or your partner dies can be a major source of relationship friction, and getting your plans down in writing is another way to re-confirm your lifelong commitment to one another (and to your children, if you have them). Having this kind of tough conversation is absolutely necessary if you want to have effective communication within your relationship. With Trust & Will you can create a legally binding will online in less time than it takes to make dinner. It’s a shortcut to removing long term relationship stress.
The Plus perk: LifeSite
Haven Life customers get a no-cost subscription to LifeSite, an online tool that enables you to organize and store all your documents (virtual and physical) in one place on the cloud, protected by military-grade encryption.
How LifeSite makes relationships less hard
Organizing your family’s documents: Dealing with the ever-increasing number of documents, records, passwords and accounts in your life can be taxing. It gets more difficult when that stuff relates to your family. Joint financial information, kids’ medical records — when those things are misplaced, people get unhappy, stress grows and your relationship suffers. Nobody wants to argue about a missing file, so use LifeSite to organize all your virtual paperwork into a digital locker, easy to use and accessible from anywhere. The “from anywhere” part will be useful when you can travel again, but for now, while you’re stuck at home, you and your partner could do a LifeSite date night, and organize your documents together over a bottle of wine.
Organizing your parents’ documents and digital lives: Dealing with aging parents’ documents makes you and your partner’s life and relationship harder. As your parents get older, their problems increasingly become your problems, too. You can’t do much about their aching joints beyond listening, but you can help organize their papers and streamline their digital lives, since the LifeSite subscription you get with Plus is good for up to five family members. Getting your parents’ lives onto LifeSite will reduce the amount of tech and archival support you’re obliged to provide. And while you can’t yell at mom when she loses something important, you might be snappy with your partner afterwards because of it, so LifeSite will make your relationship less hard by reducing your levels of frustration.
Haven Life helps look after your family in case the worst should happen. With Haven Life Plus, Haven Life also helps improve your life and relationship in the here and now now. Think of it as…love insurance.

For us older folks
This is for us older folks. I decided to finally get some term life insurance or should I say with a twist of the arm from my wife. I am 64 years old. Just to clarify, I am in very good health, lean and very active. Only had a lumbar fusion surgery. Anyway, I compared two companies based on my research that included this company and my current insurance company that will remain nameless other than they attract former military. So, I read other reviews about this company requiring a health examination, etc, etc. same holds true with that other company. Of course a company will perform their due diligence and base their decision on your overall health especially at my age compared to a thirty year old! I can not fault them. I already had a medical exam with that other company as I waited for their obtaining my medical records from my local VA Medical Center. I informed Haven Life of this and they were able to obtain a copy of the medical exam (no need to have performed twice) and received my VA records. This process takes time and it is not the fault of the company. I estimate the process took approximately 5 to 6 weeks. Unlike the first company, I strongly feel Haven Life (special recognition to Catherine) provided service excellence by keeping me informed along the way and listening to my concerns. Haven Life offered me a much better rate than the for mentioned. I expected to pay a much higher rate at my age but it is what it is. Bottom line here for us older folks (I believe you must obtain this insurance under age 65) is if you are prepared to pay higher premiums compared to a younger person, obtain a fair competitive priced premium, experience excellent customer service, and willing to be a little patient during the process, then you came to the right place.
