How Haven Life Plus makes motherhood less hard

Just in time for Mother’s Day, from a no-cost fitness app to the secret to better sleep (yes, really)

The usual way to celebrate a mother on Mother’s Day is to get her flowers, chocolates or some kind of spa visit. Pampering, in other words. While that all sounds delightful, here at Haven Life we’re taking a different approach to Mother’s Day gifts. Ours will last longer than the temporary indulgences listed above, and parts of it will even outlast the recipient. Scroll down to unwrap the only thing any mother really needs — a guide to making motherhood less hard (with a little help Haven Life Plus).

But first, what is Haven Life Plus? Think of it as a no-cost bonus rider for eligible Haven Term policyholders. This rider includes a suite of discounted- and no-cost services (like membership to a fitness app and an online estate planning service) to help eligible policyholders while they’re still alive. Here are some ways it can help a mom.

In this article:

Haven Life Plus can help you sleep

When you become a mother, you gain all kinds of insights and experiences. But you also lose things — such as sleep. Whether you’ve restructured your sleep schedule around your baby/ human alarm clock, or are waking earlier to get your kids up, fed and off to school, sleep is a challenge when you’re a parent.

Timeshifter can make it less hard. This app, built with NASA-backed science, is designed to help anyone maximize their sleep under difficult circumstances, ranging from jetlag to orbiting Earth to motherhood. Essentially, you tell the app what your ideal sleep schedule will be, and it will help you transition from your current one. (This will come in especially handy with summer vacation around the corner.)

Haven Life Plus can help with medical matters

Minor scrapes and unpleasant-but-not-too-serious infectious diseases are an unavoidable part of being a kid — and, because your child is essentially a petri dish, incubating and passing on the illnesses they acquire, those colds and runny noses are bound to make their way to Mom.

MinuteClinic, the medical clinic at CVS and Target, is a great timesaver in these situations, because you can use it without an appointment. It’s also a money saver if you’re an eligible Haven Life customer, because that entitles you to a 15% off discount.

Plus helps you manage your newfound obsession with death

No, really — hear us out: One of the strange things about welcoming new life into the world is that it makes you think about death. A lot. As a parent you hope and expect your children to outlive you, but your responsibilities to your offspring don’t necessarily end when your life does.  Therefore, you may be thinking about getting your will in order, which can seem overwhelming. (Because, you know, you’re busy raising a child.)

Luckily, Haven Life partner Trust & Will can help you make a legally binding will (or trust) in less time than it takes to watch an episode of Succession. Once that’s done, use Lantern to document your after-death wishes in as much detail as you want — whether and how to be buried, what to do with your digital accounts, what music you want at your funeral and more. This will relieve your kids of a burden in the future and relieve you of worries in the present. (We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that buying term life insurance plays a similar stress-reducing role.)

Plus helps you exercise (and briefly escape your family)

Scheduling becomes harder when you’re a parent, and your exercise regime is often a casualty. One of the many good things about Aaptiv, the fitness app that is available at no cost to eligible Haven Life customers, is that its contents are so varied that you’re all but guaranteed to find a workout that works for you, however much time you do (or don’t) have and whatever level of exertion you want.

Another bonus: Aaptiv has workouts that are fun for the whole family, whatever your kids’ ages, as well as others that are just for one. So if you want a structured reason to get out of the house alone for a while, this could be the app for you.

Plus helps tidy up your kids’ mess (and yours)

When we say “mess” we mean “all of you and your family’s important documents,” which are probably not as well-ordered as they could be. LifeSite is a digital vault — an ultra-secure online filing cabinet in which you can store all your important records and those of your family. Should you find yourself traveling with your kids and suddenly need their medical records, for example, LifeSite will mean they’re just a few taps of your phone away.

The service can also be used to store everything from mortgage deeds to pet vaccination records. Perhaps the best part is that you can choose to share your LifeSite account with your family (with as many limits as you want), which means you can enlist their help in filling it: For example, you can have them store shared passwords for things like streaming services. So that’s one more way that Haven Life Plus makes motherhood less hard: It puts your kids to work. And, at least for one day a year, that’s all you can ask for.
