How Haven Life Plus makes getting a good night's sleep less hard

How Haven Life Plus — a no cost rider for policyholders — can help you rest easy

Change is afoot. The days are getting shorter and the clocks will be changing in the not too distant future. Also, people are starting to travel again, and kids are (mostly) back at school. All this change can be disruptive to your deep sleep, and make it more challenging to get your rest in general.

But, as you might already know, buying a term life insurance policy can help you sleep easier thanks to the peace of mind that comes with knowing your family is protected in case the worst should happen to you. But as you might not already know, Haven Life can also help you get a good night’s sleep thanks to something called Haven Life Plus. (Remember, at Haven Life we like to make things less hard.) Haven Life Plus is a suite of partner services available to Haven Life customers at little or no cost through a no cost rider to the Haven Term policy. These services can enrich your life in countless ways. If you are looking to learn how to get a good night’s sleep, read on.

In this article:

By preventing jetlag (and other sleep ailments)

When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, you are going to want to prevent anything that can lead to sleep deprivation. If you have been traveling or you’re not on a regular sleeping schedule, your circadian rhythm may be off. Although Timeshifter (available to Plus members for no cost, available to everyone else for $24.99 per year) is very useful at home, it is mainly designed as an anti-jetlag app, using NASA-backed science.

If you’re about to travel for the first time in a while, you might be out of practice in dealing with jetlag. (And if your usual solution to it involves a cocktail, most flights are booze-free at the moment, so you’ll need something else — which is probably for the better anyway.) Timeshifter helps you create a sleep plan in the days leading up to, during, and after your journey, all by using clear, timed instructions for managing your sleep schedule. Useful whether you’re going on a 12-hour plane ride, or just navigating the week when clocks fall back an hour.

Life insurance needs aren't one-size-fits-all.

Calculate your needs

By working your body until it’s good and tired — and calming your mind

Aaptiv — normally $100 a year, but available at no cost for Plus members — is an exercise app with an encyclopedic array of options, many of which will help you get a good night’s sleep. (Studies have shown that regular exercise helps reduce sleep onset, aka the time it takes you to fall asleep, and also helps you sleep better once you’re out.)

If stress or anxiety is preventing you from getting quality sleep, Aaptiv also has plenty of guided walks and meditations to help your mind relax and get back to a normal sleep schedule. (Including, yes, sleep meditations designed to ease you into rest.) As a bonus, studies also show that getting a good night’s sleep helps you perform better — at work, or in the gym — the next day.

By helping you get medical attention

Got aches and pains? Minor health problems messing with your sleep? MinuteClinic can help: It’s an on-demand (no need for an appointment) medical clinic located within many CVS and Target stores. As the name suggests, it’s a perfect place for quickly dealing with health concerns, and Plus members get discounts. MinuteClinic also supports telemedicine, so you can get help without venturing out into the real world.

By securing your valuables

… And by valuables, we mean valuable documents, passwords, and end-of-life plans. LifeSite and Trust & Will are two very different services, yet both can help you achieve a better night’s sleep by removing worries that wake you in the middle of the night, as you realize you’re unprepared for what life (and death) may throw at you.

Trust & Will (available at no cost for Plus members) allows you to make a legally binding will (or trust) in as little as 15 minutes. If you don’t have a will, that’s a problem that really is worth losing sleep over, but Trust & Will is an excellent solution.

LifeSite (also no-cost) is essentially an extra-secure online filing cabinet, in which you can store all your documents: mortgage paperwork, medical records, passwords, birth certificates… the list goes on. If you’re traveling, having that information accessible at all times in all places ought to help you relax, and if you’re staying at home, it’s still a relief (a sweet, sleep-inducing relief) to know all that information is secure. In other words, it’ll give you peace of mind, which will aid restful sleep.

By providing peace of mind

We’ll say it again: You know what else gives you peace of mind? Having life insurance. We can’t technically guarantee that you’ll sleep like a baby once you know that your family will be financially protected if the worst should happen, but we certainly think it’s worth a shot.
